Movement and exercise, whether we are children, teens, young adults, in mid-life or in our later life, are essential for enhancing overall health and development, preventing chronic diseases, and preventing premature mortality.  Physical activity or movement leads to years of healthy life and longevity. Regular physical activity aids in the improvement of mental health, emotional health, bodily function, and cognitive function. Importantly, movement does not need to be always a formal or structured activity. It can also take the form of common enjoyable and even social tasks like gardening, housekeeping, walking, etc. In short, developing a body that moves well is the ticket to a place where you feel capable, confident, and free. We are all, literally, born to move.
